This character made his debut appearance in Super Mario Bros. 3. (1990). I’m transported back to my youth when I hear a dog bark, while I was playing Super Mario 64. I always seemed to fail at capturing the Power Star guarded by a Chain Chomp in Bob-Battlefield OMBs, and I tried for so long that the sound was perfectly maintained in my long-term memory. While hazardous, this canine ball and chain is adorable; nevertheless, getting bitten by one would be a nightmare.
41. Bullet Bill
This character made his debut appearance in Super Mario Bros. (1985). Bullet Bills are a unique twist on an inanimate object. These sentient missiles have have one goal: to reach their intended target, and some of them can even track them down. They’ve appeared as foes in almost every Mario game, but they’re also common as power-ups in the Mario Kart and Mario Party franchises.
40. Hammer Bros
This character made his debut appearance in Super Mario Bros. (1985). You know someone is excellent at their trade when they are called after it. Nobody is better at juggling and hurling hammers at their opponents than the Hammer Bros. Nothing prevents a regular Koopa from picking up a hammer and throwing it, but the Hammer Bros. are trained professionals who are unmatched in terms of lethality in the Koopa Troop.
39. Captain Toad
This character made his debut appearance in Super Mario Galaxy (2007). To get me excited about a character, nothing matches an adventurous, brave explorer. This red-capped Toad with a huge backpack started his path to fame as a member of the Toad Brigade in Super Mario Galaxy. 36. Professor E. Gadd
Luigi’s Mansion was the first game in which he debuted (2001). Professor Elvin Gadd initially appears in Luigi’s first solo journey as a supporting character. As a result, he’s become a popular returning character. He has his own Mario Party level, too! This small, stereotypical mad scientist with swirly glasses is more concerned with his discoveries and the progress of knowledge than with minor matters such as “rescuing Mario.” Professor E. Super Mario 64 was omitted from the game (1996). Motos is a unique character to include. They aren’t in any official Mario game, after all. Over 25 years after it was originally released, this spherical robot-like foe was found deep inside the Super Mario 64 archives. Given how easily he can pick you up and throw you about, it may be for the best.
31. Koopa-Troopa
This character made his debut appearance in Super Mario Bros. (1985). Koopa-Troopas are the most common agents in Bowser’s Koopa Troop. They’re also one of the most formidable opponents in the original NES game. Since then, this cheerful mascot has appeared in almost every Mario game, whether as an opponent, a playable character, or an item.

30. Kamek

They’re minor annoyances at most, and they’re sometimes beneficial to Mario’s heroics. Dry Bones, on the other hand, is a terrible Koopa that even Mario is aware of. In traditional side-scrolling Mario games, this skeleton Koopa patrols towers and castles, and they’re a nuisance to deal with since they can rebuild themselves when Mario stomps them flat.
27. Goomba is number
This character made his debut appearance in Super Mario Bros. (1985). Goombas, the living shiitake mushrooms that seem to live only to be stomped by Mario, will be recognized by almost everyone who recalls Mario. They are a historical figure in the Marioverse since they are the first opponent you will face on Level 1-1 of the original Super Mario Bros.

26. Goombella is number

When the plumber rescues her from Lord Crump, she joins his business and serves as a navigator, providing important information throughout the game.
25. Lakitu
This character made his debut appearance in Super Mario Bros. (1985). Bowser’s airforce is made up of Lakitus, a subspecies of Koopa. They employ bombs and other dangerous items on Mario in order to take away a few of his life. Other activities that they have been known to engage in include fishing from their cloud and following Mario around to chronicle his adventures. While the majority of them grow within the Mushroom Kingdom’s green pipes, they may also be found in fields and other biomes. They’re so popular that, despite the fact that it makes no sense, they’ve been included to the list of playable characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
22. Petey Piranha
The character originally appeared in Super Mario Sunshine (2002). The Piranha Plant in SSBU isn’t the first time one of these well-known foes has gotten loose. Petey Piranha is Super Mario Sunshine’s first boss. This gigantic mutant Piranha Plant has a bad attitude and huge lips. It also has a variety of unique abilities that it will use to attempt to end Mario’s heroic run. In Super Mario Sunshine, my fight with Petey Piranha taught me the meaning of the term “angry quitting.” It took me years to come back and finish the game!
21. Shy Guy
This character made his debut appearance in Super Mario Bros. 2. (1988). The Shy Guy, one of Super Mario Bros. 2’s many strange enemies, is one of the most deceiving. With their ugly masks, these weird beings resemble serial murderers from a horror film, yet they’re just too scared to show their faces in public. They aren’t dangerous; they’re just afraid. They begin to appear beautiful once you understand this, owing to the fact that they come in every color of the rainbow.
20. Toad
This character made his debut appearance in Super Mario Bros. 2. (1988). Toad, a happy and impetuous fungus that has been a part of the Mario series since SMB2, has to be one of the most recognized faces in the Mushroom Kingdom. The Toads are the most well-known characters in the Mushroom Kingdom, and they’ve always been loyal to Princess Toadstool. While he seems to be indistinguishable from other Toads, he is, like Captain Toad and Toadette, a unique, individual Toad.
19. Toadette

15. Lady Bow

We first encounter her as the potentially violent leader of a gang of Boos in Boo’s Mansion, but she accompanies Mario on his adventure as an important party member. Her concept is simple: it’s a Boo with ribbons. Nonetheless, her charming and memorable character growth and facial expressions make her one of the game’s most lovable and memorable characters.
14. Boo
This character made his debut appearance in Super Mario Bros. 3. (1990). Regardless of size, gender, or financial status, all boos have the same basic traits. They’re round and light, and when someone looks at them directly, they usually disappear. You may think this is a scare tactic. They are, however, fearful — nearly as much as they are mischievous and nasty at times. For a ghost, this is unusual. Boos may be found almost wherever there are people. They can be found in almost every Mario game. Nobody is safe, not even the royal palace of the Mushroom Kingdom, as anybody who has visited the basement in SM64 will attest.

12. Diddy Kong

The character originally appeared in Super Mario Sunshine (2002) Bowser, like any smart monarch, saw the need to extend the royal family early on.
